For different shoe last types and forms, it is also useful or advisable to use different dividings. On this page, we give you an overview of the advantages and disadvantages as well as applications of different dividings.

This dividing is almost only used for low shoe lasts. Advantage: the last is very robust despite the dividing. Disadvantage: slipping off the last can be difficult

Use for low shoe and leg lasts. The exact run of the dividing and the screw connection can be modified. Advantage: slipping off the last is always ensured

Mainly used for low shoe lasts. The front and rear parts are held together by a strong screw. Advantage: few parts

Industrial dividing with internal mechanics. Shortening only in the hindfoot. Limited suitability for wood lasts or orthopaedics. Mainly for plastic lasts.
